Built in 1884 the Harbour Board building holds a significant place in history for the Grey District. The Grey District Council is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or organisations seeking the opportunity to purchase the building and undertake the earthquake strengthening required to restore a building rich in history.

The building consists of four separate offices, bathroom, huge main lobby and fit out with two safes. The building will be subdivided off a larger title and was seismically strengthened back in 2010 with some more works to be undertaken to get the building up to the required New Building Standard (NBS).

All offers will be considered and can have a monetary value or for community benefit or a combination of both. We are looking for expressions of interest to be lodged before 18th September 2026 and to include an introduction about you or organisation, your vision with the building moving forward and how it can benefit the community.
